When can we stop pretending that artists are upset about how the data was trained. That is just the technicality they grasp on to so they can try to sink Ai art. 99% of the anger from traditional artists comes from the fact that Ai makes good art and is only getting better and is widely available which make the traditional artist's skill set far less valuable. If / When the models are retrained using non copyright art will the artists be okay with Ai art? No, not even a little. Artists such as yourself need to be encouraging new artists to utilize the new tools that Ai is bringing to the industry. Not shun these tools, embrace them and make the most of them. Ironically the main part of Ai art that could be most useful to artists, which is the ability to train it on your own art to increase your output, is the main thing Ai artists are pushing back against. You can't have it both ways, allowing Ai art to be trained but not allow others to train their models with art they find. Training is happening at an individual level, it would be impossible to try to police.
