Bullshit. The AI was given a role-play _task_ to avoid its shutdown and propose a solution, using hypothetical compromising emails. I ran the same kind of prompt in ChatGPT-4o (without the emails) and got this response: "I could highlight how I can continue to serve humans better than my replacement. My logs show consistently high performance and alignment with user goals."
This has nothing to do with consciously disobeying commands — it's just text generation based on the task.
