This post assumes that the AI at all stages will be benevolent. How can we assume that? Also, if these are indeed the evolutionary stages of AI, we are also assuming that human beings on earth would be the only ones developing it. Extraterrestrials who have developed earlier and/or faster than us may have reached these higher levels already.
I have not seen any posts that discuss seriously and thoughtfully the social - the human - impact of AI even that it's early stages, which is happening now. More and more of us can't discern between a human being and their device - and ignore the human being because of being fixated on their devices.
But that's okay - there's money to be made, except when money will be meaningless because, as in the original Star Trek series, all human need was conquered - I guess through AI.
