So... AI and physical automation are very different things. They still both have huge impacts on employment but in very different ways. Physical automation has only been slowed because of the complexity / cost of installation and the total cost of ownership related to maintenance. Many off the shelf robots today also dont employ AI - at most vision systems integrated with robots use AI but mostly in the realm of machine learning to, say, identify good vs bad chicken breasts on a conveyor belt. AI can overcome the physical hurdles but the ROI doesn't seem to be quite proven yet.
