If we're free to enjoy life, we can move away from the jobs economy, and the Ludditism that comes with it, since the automation of your job doesn't mean destitution, it means freedom. Also, despite desiring much more than merely a UBI (I am a libertarian socialist) the UBI policy is much easier to argue for in everyday society. Normal people seem much more receptive to the idea, especially when you connect it with automation, as Yang has successfully proven than they are to socialism. With this being said, if we get a UBI in effect, we can allow more people to escape the bottom of their hierarchy of needs, and put them in a position where they're more capable of educating themselves on these matters.
