Tech Lead here, that is exactly why we do not give two shits about the interviewees degree or the facility that they graduated from during recruitment. We rather have a high school drop out with solid knowledge of CS than some entitled recently graduated one (see how he does not even admit to the things he does not know and explains a wrong answer that he knows is wrong, he is insulting the intelligence of the interviewer due to his vanity). To me this is not about the AI and more about the educational system and mindset of the society. This is about a society that generally thinks degree = knowledge and skill, that believe causes the delusion in people that they need one to thrive and they get a degree just to have one, to satisfy themselves and the society or to "fit in", not to necessarily gain knowledge. FYI, these questions he is asking are stupid and so basic that if he asked these questions to a professional programmer, it would be considered rude and insulting. he asked nothing about big O notations, no DSA questions what so ever. type annotations in Python, are you fucking kidding? This is the result of a society that is lazy, entitled and wants attention. to me AI is a great automation tool but in the right hands, it should assist you not replace your mind, I think how they use it ruined their generation and I must say not all of them, we still have some genuine CS freaks coming out of this generation. To me this is a natural result giving the circumstances. and we in industry should adapt to expect more and more false positives.
