Actually, it's not just Artificial Intelligence (AI) that should be ruled out why it's a B**** to find employment. The truth is even in the current age of AI, employers will STILL need workers since the technology will never be perfected, whether it's now or in the future, hence the terminology of being part of machine learning (ML) careers. THIS issue was an ongoing thing for decades where companies commonly lay off workers JUST to offshore jobs to countries where they have a really thick accent and can't really speak a lick of English. People would ALSO assume that recent college grads would not obtain work due to the field of study being pointless, but that's in every field of study anyway. Higher education has become a catastrophic catch-22 and in a lot of cases, a scam. Some higher education institutions have promised graduates to get their foot in the door in various industries, ONLY to get told NO. So all in all, the unfortunate thing is that a LOT of current college grads would have to rely on dead-end jobs.
