I really love your thoughtful approach to conversation and sharing insights from great minds. I’d like to question something that doesn’t seem to come up in these conversations around AI, Utopia, UBI, etc. in most podcasts (not singling you out here, I just find you are far more willing to consider alternative perspectives)- and that’s the intensive use of natural resources that we all depend on to survive (water, land) and the absolute monster in the woods that AI Data Centers and that infrastructure represents to the human species and all life. I think that can be handled with methodical regulations to a degree, but there needs to be more effort in finding engineering alternatives that don’t waste water and resources. Would love to know what experts think about that. My other thought is related to joblessness - as in, why are these millionaires and billionaires investing in entertainment, when they could invest in creating sustainable agrarian societies where people can both maintain autonomy, grow healthier food, healthier communities, and support all life around them? The majority of human history was experienced as an Agrarian species, one that lived with nature and reaped the health benefits of being outside living in-tune with nature and its cycles. I think a podcast guest who specializes in that perspective would be a lovely addition to help more people see and visualize that a future with community based in agriculture and regenerative forest practices is one that’s absolutely possible, especially if we are looking at the future as one where AI completely removes whole professions.
