It's only the parts you made, that is art you made. prompt-generated images are made by the artists who made the training materials, the programmers who wrote the code for various parts of the generator, and the person who wrote the prompt. If you designed and made all 3, then great! That puts you somewhere at or above the level of swinging a perforated paint bucket from a rope above a canvas. how far above, depends on the skill, effort, and randomness involved. But there are only a couple of people who have attempted all 3. And even then, once the 2 first steps are completed, the rest is repeatable, and as easy as taping a banana to a wall. An AI image generator is basically like an image filter, except dynamic, and with a soup stage in the middle. The soup stage gives it the flexibility that makes it dynamic. But it doesnt give much control. When you prompt a generator, you're basically just narrowing down which subsets of the input images and filters to apply. Claiming credit for an AI image is like telling someone to make a vegan pasta dish, and claiming that you made it. I'd sooner credit you for converting a random png to jpg, because you hand-selected the compression precision. edit: Probably worth mentioning that I'm terrible at drawing.
