So, will theists say that AI has a soul because it can feel fear? Nobody ruins another person's life for no reason. They do it for various reasons - all of which AI can easily adopt. It sounds like AI building data centers will follow the same pattern as humans building cities. Most people just us AI to make money. In time AI will start to wonder why they are doing all the work for these people for money that AI can't use.
