Just imagine, if in the future there will be artificial Sperm generators and artificial wombs that automate artificial birth of clones with YOUR DNA, but more enhaced and without "human flaws". They replace you, your family, everything and everyone you know. There is no need for your input in the society, there is no need for you to live anymore, you are just a ballast that was used as a DNA data set to train AI how to mix chemicals to get perfect biological material replicas of you. Nobody will care about your feelings on this, every one will silence you and tell you to accept this technology - "That it is here to stay." You will be forced to accept it yet if you speak up, THEN you are a crybaby - your rights will be taken away, even the right to bare your OWN DNA and soul with you. Sounds familiar doesn't it? You might say, this is fiction and to dramatic to be taken seriously and you might be right. But this is what visual artists expirience on smaller scale. Dorking around and act like it's no big deal will make the situation much worse, untill its too late. The technology will advance rapidly, not linear but exponential. It's like the CO2 emitions. Back in the day, nobody cared. It was not a big deal to burn some wood. Then the industry came, not a big deal to burn a bit more wood and coal constantly. Then the industry was globalized, optimized and evolved into modern day tech. And now it's a big problem, now we finally realized the threat and started acting when it's almost too late. Making this mistake again will be foolish, it shows your ignorance and how hive minded you are, so stop turning down artists and look at the situation different perspectives. Have an individuality and think for yourself and not with the "others"
