My question to the supporters of generative ai “”art”” is: what’s the longevity of it. No, seriously. How is it gonna work long term. Suppose it Does become industry standard and movies, advertisement, video games and what have you, are all created with ai tools. Now the database ai image creation is pulled from is itself composed of ai images. How do you prevent the recursive corruption that will happen? Warped perspective, effed up hands, the visual noise of mushy “details”…. All of those things getting reproduced over and over, and worse and worse when the database is mostly made up of other ai art with the same issues? Face it: you NEED human artists to keep making art, because it’s the only way to keep the ai from repeating its own mistakes. You don’t want to admit it. You don’t want to pay us. So you throw a tantrum when we decide to stake a claim on our own work, and prevent you from using it to make cheap knock offs of our work.
