In US I would guess that it is the same as over here, that most work places also white collar is within small and mid sized companies. I think that what is most likely is that maybe some of the biggest companies manages to implement AI (or automated) solutions to the extent that many employees will not be needed anymore. However, overall, the technological adaption also for technology that by now is pretty old, is very very slow throughout companies especially in some sectors. So I think that this guy, he knows about AI and the potential, but he overestimates the adaptation rate of it in the economy. Also, my impression is that they have planned this to raise interest for their own AI. That is why they at the same time have pointed out what this AI could do that is less good, so that people will feel that it is taking leaps of progress when in reality it might not have. It's a PR stunt.
