In my opinion, AI is a good tool for people who don't have the resources to pay an artist, or the time, desire, or ability to learn how to create art (whatever type), to bring their ideas to life. AI doesn't need to be "eliminated", it needs to be regulated and have some ethics behind the companies. Using AI for something private, like putting yourself floating in space, or your daughter next to a unicorn, doesn't seem so bad to me. But there are a million other problems that drive me crazy, and I'm one of those who has created images with AI, although I wouldn't call it art because I've also made things with my own hands. To begin with, the big problem with databases (duh), Trying to create a "realistic image of an alien" and having it make you the typical big-eyed green alien. Telling it to be "humanoid" and having it simply make you a human image. And you can keep adding adjectives ad infinitum, but you'll spend an entire afternoon trying to get a minimally decent and "original" image because, surprise no one: The AI is trained with a limited and mostly stolen file, and it's almost impossible to get anything truly original. Then there's the fact that ALL social media platforms are flooded with AI-generated garbage images that don't even warn you it's AI, even though it's clearly visible, and try to pass them off as something real. I hate that so much... Companies that have always paid artists, that have the money to pay artists, and decide to create their content with AI to save money, and on top of that, it looks like poor quality because... They don't even have the decency to pay a single real person with REAL knowledge to review their garbage. Profiting from mediocre/poor quality images created with stolen content and at the expense of innocent people who swallow it without question. In my case, I use AI to create realistic images for the lore of a game I'm developing. I'm doing it all on my own, with no budget, creating a ton of content: history, races, planets, materials, ships, cults... And, as I've already said, I myself have made real art and I know what it costs, I have several artist friends and I know what it costs. In some ways, it seems more ethical to me to use AI to launch my project and then, when I make money from it, pay real artists. I prefer that to having to exploit anyone by paying them barely €10 per image created. And we all know that's a very sad reality in the world of artists, especially at the beginning. There are some things I have done myself for my project, but I don't have the ability to make 20 hyperrealistic landscapes, I don't even have the ability to make one 😂😂 Well, there are some things I disagree with in what you say in the video, but it doesn't really matter because both you and I already have our opinions formed and it's going to be difficult to change them. What I do tell you is: don't lump all "AI artists" together. Many are disgusting, many have no idea about art, nor do they have any idea how AI actually works. Many just want to make money or "give themselves physical pleasure," which is disgusting. Many want to deceive people or are simply too bored. But there are also many others who create images/videos with good intentions and without deceiving at any time. People who make good quality entertainment videos and make it clear that they are AI, or those who, like me, use it as a stepping stone to later be able to pay someone to do it well. There's a bit of everything, and not everyone is a threat... I hope AI can be regulated and ethically applied so that innocent people don't end up paying for the guilty, and so that this tool can evolve in a way that respects everyone. I hope there's some way to do this. It's very complicated, but let's keep hope alive and not kill each other xD Pd.: Sorry if there are spelling mistakes, I speak English but I'm Spanish and I use the translator to be able to write faster and sometimes it does horrendous things.
