I think the point that a commenter made about AI accessibility is a bit underfed. It goes beyond the financial aspect. Accessibility also has a lot to do with time, and ability, not just money. While I love artists, and their creations, but I've had to work over 40 hours a week to survive. It left me drained, exhausted, and braindead, financially and physically, to the point I don't feel like making dinner, much less spending time to learn, and draw ideas that I have in my head, whereas I could generate a somewhat original image in under roughly 5 minutes for free off a smartphone, and an internet connection. This is a similar reality a lot of people have faced for centuries, and is yet another reason to deeply appreciate artists and the work they've done, do, and will continue to do, but the starving artist is a cliché I thought other progressives would be intent on ridding as we like to talk about keeping everyone fed. And yes people are losing jobs to this behemoth, as they did when computer animation was made readily available to high end studios, and hand drawn artists were thrown to the curb. You have your anger aimed at the wrong problem. AI isn't killing art. The tunnel-visioned interest in capital and profit is. Art isn't work. It's a skill that's been pimped out so those starving artists don't have to starve anymore. AI, and any other skill it comes for, are just the same as long as we live under a capitalistic system. Hate AI or don't, it doesn't matter. Your enemy isn't a tool. It is the user who makes you seem worthless to others by making as much money as possible with as little work as possible using that tool. White men in suits you and I may never meet. Viva la revolution
