I love this thought of being able to “GUARANTEE AI is safe.” I can throw my coffee mug at you - we can’t even guarantee humans, software, dogs, garden furniture, etc is safe - there is IMHO NO WAY we will ever be able to guarantee AI is safe nor will we be able to create truly safe AI. I have 8 year olds cracking AI guardrails - this idea of a “Utopian safe AI” … simply doesn’t exist and never will. We can only work to minimise AI downsides.
