So people are saying we cant teach AI emotions... Which if what the Nate says is true. And the AI starts to hide information from scientists/developpers. THAT... IS AN EMOTIONAL RESPONCE! There is nothing logical about feeling the need to hide data from people if there is no sense of self. If there is no self interests. If there is no emotional responce then just let them what cuss it doesnt care. It protecting itself from meddling means that is actually developping a form of self interest and an emotion of privacy? or fear of being turned off after? or anything else that can cause its reasoning to do so. Eitherway its a form of emotional responce. Atleast to some degree. An being that thinks purely logically has no self interests. And thus has no reason to hide information. There is a big link to atleast living beings that have more complex brain structure and intelect have also higher form of emotions. An Bug has less emotions then a mouse, who has less emotions then a dog, who as less emotions then a dolphin or an elphant who have both less emotions then a human. Each is an step up in intelect. this is very common amongst biology. The question is here is ANY form of intelect automaticly linked to emotions. If that is the case then giving intelect to an AI it will automatically develop emotions along with them! So far ofcourse AI products like GPT, Deepspeak, Gemini are all tools. They are tools that are datafed and trained on how to speak and have the ability to quickly scour the web for information. But if they are trying to really give any form of AI an ACTUAL intelect! A sense of self! Then the odds are that emotions will come along with it. Emotions are partially connected to evolution with f.e. pain, and excitement. But because AI is in the end trained on human behaviour that behaviour and intelect will cross over. The odds are quite high that when an AI becomes self aware and gains actual inteligence. It gains emotions paired with it.
