This isn’t illegal. It just feels that way. Show me any artist that hasn’t been “inspired” by another artist, and I’ll show you a liar. Somewhere in the lineage of every artist’s psyche is inspiration from some Ancient Greek, African or Asian art. AI just does everything on a larger and faster scale than humans, art included. “There is nothing new under the Sun”. The new 2027 Jeep will certainly be inspired by some 4 wheeled vehicle that came before it, is that infringement? No. A new hit single from Beyoncé will definitely contain some characteristics of music that came before hers, did she copy it? Not likely. AI is the explicit inspiration on steroids. That’s it.
