It might blow people's minds to know that, in fact, our grid is pretty well defended. After decades of script kiddies and techno-anarchists, it's no longer child's play to collapse a grid. Hell, people try to do it all the time, daily, for YEARS now. China, Russian, Iran, you name it. Some of the greatest viruses and malware were invented by Microsoft, at the behest of the US government, to target their own operating system. Most hackers don't have that kind of access. We are so deep in so many security patches, made by the brightest minds on the planet to stop the other great minds, even the "magic" of AI would be hard pressed to topple them all. But... Also, it might help to realize that AI isn't that smart. I know, Chess! Go! Look at the pretty pictures! This conversation with a bot ALMOST makes sense! No. Just stop it. AI made scripts are generic dregs. AI made pictures only look good if people cherry pick the results, and even then the images are just photobashing. AI conversations are just regurgitations of random snippets of other human communications, roughly slapped together and often don't make any sense at all. The computer looks for a pattern and attempts to replicate it. That's not "thinking". AI has no real understanding! It's pattern recognition, that's not consciousness. We, human beings, still can not define consciousness, much less how to replicate it. That conversation with a journalist and AI turned into a love letter because most people who type that much are writing love letters. There is ZERO understanding!
