I hate AI art. It doesn't empower creativity at all. Every time I see the argument that it does it's instantly wrong. AI is not a mind reader. You can imagine a character in your head and you can go tinker with AI. It will never get it right. You'll just settle for it because it did it in 4 hours and you needed 10 to experiment and do your design right. That's lazy. Create your own designs by yourself even if they're simple. AI is a lazy tool. Yes real art is hard work but it's also super accessible. AI doesn't make it accessible. You need a good machine to do good AI which costs a ton of money. You can do art with a paper and a $1 pencil. Yes you can. The problem is actually doing it and dedicating the time. If you want to do art you have to take your time for it. Art is never going to be something done in 10 seconds. Stop treating art as competition or like a tedious process. It's awesome seeing lines take shape and then those shapes creating characters that you actually had in your head instead of going "oh this is good enough". No. Use and grow your skills. AI is tedious work. Typing code and prompt. Tedium. Lines and colors are fun. It's what we did in preschool and now that we're older we can do a lot more with it too. AI is absolutely unnecessary. I'm very happy to see more and more people who aren't impressed with AI anymore and are starting to push against it. AI has no place in creative spaces. It should be something to eliminate tedium, not create it, which is what it does in creative fields.
