Something I haven't really seen people touch on is the role art plays for the rich vs for the masses, and how AI factors into this. For us, art is something that inspires us, speaks to us emotionally, reveals things about ourselves or others, etc. For the rich, art is a means of financial gain. The rich have been pushing real artists to make low quality slop for decades now. Why pay artists to create new stories, take chances, perfect their work, etc when you can churn out a million sequels and reboots, rush CGI artists to make "good enough" effects, carelessly write shitty dialogue, etc? AI is just the next step in this, they want to funnel shit into our minds without pesky creatives getting in their way and trying to tell "real" stories. Those corporations are the real consumer base, not us. AI artists just fell for the marketing, they're useful idiots that pump up stock prices. Also, does anyone think the rich personally decorate their homes with AI art? No, they trade real art, they commission real artists. They want to feed us slop to make more money, and then use that money to buy the real deal, actual craftsmanship. And they don't even appreciate or understand it themselves half the time, they just pat themselves on the back about how learned and cultured they are. Pearls before swine. You want "good enough" slop on your plate? Congrats, you're contributing to that being the only thing on the menu...for YOU and everyone you know.
