I most certainly hope so. This "globally recognised AI expert", who - remember that and keep it in mind - PARTICIPATED in making it, is now crying out danger. Cretin, not a genius. I do not believe him even now. He has a good reason to join the scores of other "ex-AI engineers", now screaming "wolf, wolf!!!".
Bulshit artists every single one. They call themselves "the smartest people in the world" and yet here we are. They could NOT "predict" what sci-fi authors predicted 50 years ago. That the AI has the potential to get out of hand.
