I use AI for backend work and it's quite helpful as long as you understand its strengths / limitations. A lot of it boils down to what you're expecting from it, and how specific you are. Being specific enough requires coding skill though. You have to hand-hold AI, but it can reduce a whole lot of boilerplate in a flexible way. I love being able to describe something with a quick paragraph and have AI generate the skeleton of it immediately--saves me 10 to 20 minutes of clicking and typing. The thing it produces doesn't stand on its own--you have to tweak it--but it's nice to have the starting point already generated.
