One thing that comes from both doing art as a hobby and studying to be a computer technician is immediately knowing how AI image generation works, and immediately realizing how boring it is.
Like nothing AI makes is fascinating or interesting because it's just an algorithm trying to predict what goes where on a 2d grid. Every time I prompt, I see the same shit churned out to me over and over again, and the more I realize the high I feel is no different than the high I felt opening lootboxes in any mobile game I've played in the past decade, and with that realization all desire to prompt has been lost, and I've gone back to drawing on my tablet, sure it may not be fast, but I don't care, I want to feel something other than the same high I've gotten from social media for the past decade.
