Thr constant anthropomorphizing of AI is kind of grating. AI doesn't care, the algorithm rewards specific behavior. It can't explain its reasoning, it can only be fed input that prompts it to take it's output as a new input in a way that mimics reasoning (that's why it reacts in weird ways when you retroactively modify the "reasoning" output and get it to run again.
It isn't aware that it's being tested, it's loaded with training data of people on the Internet who react to testing in certain ways.
