I think you are downplaying what's really going on. "The same is true for dozens of other artists online" gives the impression that it's not so wide widespread and most artwork isn't being scraped. ANYONE who has posted art, literature, movies/films, or music is subject to AI generators. Those pet pics, family pics, event pics (weddings etc) or selfies: AI generators can and will will scrape it. AI does not know "how to draw", "Paint", "write", "play instruments", or :"Film footage" for a movie. It just takes art that is already posted online and repurposes it.
