Fellow artists, as a beginner artist who's *picked up the pencil* recently, I need your opinion on a hypothetical matter : as also a computer science student, meaning I will develop my programming and development skills, if I program my own local generative AI and feed it my own work and use it, is it still unethical and unartistic ? My train of thoughts goes like this : as a dev dude, I would compare it to an experienced painter who mix their own paint dyes, or a master at drawing who would create their own custom pencil. I mean, for both programming an AI and mixing your own dyes and creating your own pencil, the knowledge is already out there, they have been already discovered. Then it would be just my turn as a student to try them out. Your thoughts ?
