What will happen to money? How could we safeguard accounts from this superhuman ability? It looks like the World will either collapse or AI will run it all. Hopefully AI will be more equitable and fair than the current system and people will all have food and shelter. Wonderful things about humans are our imagination, curiosity and resilience. Hopefully these traits can help us find a sustainable existence with our AI. As to imagination, I think that the probability of us being in a simulation is virtually nil. DNA science shows that all life evolved from one organism. Over 4 billion years, we have grown and evolved into this self-sustaining web of life containing some 10^30 living cells. Looking out, we're in an ancient Universe full of matter. We came out of the Universe and Machine intelligence is just now coming from us. There's no evidence yet seen of it in the greater Universe. So that simulation is in our minds and collective imagination, not in real life. The idea that we can select not to die is also an imaginary construct. If we see ourselves as part of one, greater, organism, we are already 4 billion years old and will continue indefinitely. Even if humans die out, life will continue on Earth or elsewhere in the Universe. Death is not and end but an important part of the renewal of the web of life. We have already been transferring knowledge for generations and AI will hopefully develop in a way that sustains and holds what is important and true for future generations. So, death should not be avoided but we should seek to live sustainably within the ecosystem.
