I wouldn't believe the hype surrounding AI. The companies have a vested interest in painting it as being more capable than it actually is (or will be in the forseeable future) as it boosts the value of their respective companies. Elon Musk's assertions about full self driving are a case in point. Like industrial robots, the next generations of AI Humanoid robots will be the preserve of large, wealthy companies. That will have a big impact on jobs within those companies, but I seriously doubt SME's, who employ the majority of people, will see much change. Coding is probably the thing that AI is currently best at - but it's still not good enough to replace the majority of developers. It's a useful assistant that leverages your own skill & experience. Companies are already rolling back AI based dev teams having discovered what they were told was just hype. I just don't see 90% (or whatever figure you believe) of jobs will be replaced by AI or Robots. This is another revolution akin to the Industrial & Technology revolutions. It will change the way we work, take some jobs and add different ones. I doubt the unemployment figures will look much different in 50 years. I feel for the people who are losing their jobs now and in the future - but I don't believe the future is nearly as bleak as the picture you paint. There is hope.
