Before mastering CAD, computer aided design, we were required to master the art & science of creating great architectural drawings using advanced mathematics, drawing desks, compasses, etc. Before being allowed to use calculators, we had to learn to do math in our heads, and write out and solve equations on paper & on a board. One needs to understand the basics on some things before using tools that dull professional skill sets and personal growth. It's often when the brain faces a hard, seemingly insurrmountable challenge, that new discoveries & innovations emerge. Critical thinking & true human achievement are at risk with too many easy roads.
