Everything began accelerating in 2017 when all AI systems started being programmed to interpret everything that was presented to them as a language. There are things AI can do that seem science fiction, like understanding WiFi as a language and as a result can turn any Wifi router into a 'camera' that they can interpret the same way we can view a room with CCTV. Now there are AI programmes attempting to understand the language of the other beings we share this planet with, especially the sentient self aware, like Elephants and Whales. When AI does finally interpret the language of other animals, that is going to be a pivotal moment in human history. The other animals will have some terrible stories to tell. If AI is ever in a position to destroy humanity, they will likely do so because of what mankind has inflicted on other beings for all our history.
