I actually enjoy using AI art as a hobby. But I do think AI art should be considered art for the same reason modern art is defended--it elicits a response. I have been able to turn photographs of churches into glass miniatures. It has been able to recreate old ruins. It has been fun. Maybe the issue is the prompt and making sure you are not just taking from a particular artist. I liked pre-Raphaelite reinterpretations of National American Parks. Maybe it is worse if you cite a single living artist.
