The funniest thing about the Studio Ghibli AI style issue is that its not Studio Ghiblis art style its Nippon Animations, you see back in 1978 they hired Hayao Miyazaki and some others to make an anime called Future Boy Conan that if you take a look at this anime its very close to Studio Ghibli style so close that some fan sites include it in there wikis despite been made 8 years before Studio Ghibli was founded, other than directing and character design also storyboarding there is no indication that Hayao Miyazaki is responsible for the art style I assume it was a group effort, after the anime series was over Hayao Miyazaki and a few others left Nippon they continued to use the style that technically is owned by Nippon Animation but who cares about that right? Its the whole Oreo x Hydrox situation. Personally I dont feel any art style should be protected and anyone should be able to use the style but I guess to some people that only applies if you do it by hand else its sacrilege.
