I know it's less attention grabbing than 'AI to wipe out humanity in five years!', but being fooled by the illusion of intelligence and in particular understanding, is just that an illusion. Nothing about the Bot had changed. It didn't feel anything, it didn't 'love' anyone, it just picked the statistically most likely words a human would use, taking into account the conversation so far. However very, very real dangers are imminent, tens of millions of jobs lost, especially when self-driving vehicles are actually working, just as the first deadly (in the global 'North') climate shocks, cause mass suffering and hunger. Who do you think those people are going to vote for.. some fascist thug, who will promise to restore 'us' to our rightful top spot, by crushing those who are already weaker. The 'unexpected dangers' of AI, are quite possibly a deliberate distraction by those who own them, from the purposeful dangers of AI, to replace human workers.
