I drive on autopilot on a semi regular basis and I lost sympathy as soon as it said he put his food on the accelerator.
Everyone who uses autopilot knows, and it even flashes a notice on screen, that while you press the accelerator it will not stop, for stop signs or otherwise
This seems to be more of a debate on where the human-autonomous boundary should be, and how idiot proof it should be.
