Honestly, a blue-collar job in my country seems less at risk than my job as a programmer, but even acknowledging this, I think people overestimate the capabilities of AI. When you work on large enterprise systems, you realize how often AI fails, how unmaintainable the code it creates is, and, putting that aside, that people who understand workflows, take on responsibilities, etc., will continue to be needed. This has happened several times before, and it has always resulted in an increase in workload.
