LLM coding agents vs human programmer.... considerable disagreement over how effective the LLMs are when a competent assistant programmer is interacting with them.
This is not hard to address. Programming competitions exist. I am not familiar with them but they've been around for awhile.
Some will complain that the problems will of necessity be too simple or something... but clearly this makes sense to consider.
The argument i hear here is that the LLM AI software generators need sufficiently competent assistance... then and only then will you get good results.
Ok great ! Lets see if these people who make that claim are willing to compete against top notch programmers in a contest.
I'm surprised this hasn't already been proposed, well maybe it has.
