Listen to Laura at around the 15 minute mark and you'll get your answer as to whether AI is conscious. That there are thinking, conscious humans who think that the ability to string words together based on human-inputted algorithims makes a machine conscious convinces me that, though all we humans are conscious, a whole bunch of us are sadly lacking in the "I" part of AI.
