My wife is a radiologist training in her second year in the UK. She said Consultants she’s spoke to said AI would take their job 10 years ago. Today those people are still saying AI will replace them.. except she said the AI is still incredibly basic in what it can achieve. They are urged to try and use it but she said it makes mistakes all the time and it’s faster for her to report scans herself. In the UK they are opting to train non doctors (radiographers) to read basic scans like x-rays over AI. In a non profit environment there is no faith in the technology.
In the US.. many will die or be medically disabled as guinea pigs for experimental technology. I salute the sacrifice of the US patients in the quest to make tech companies billions.
