I respect NDT but this one was disappointing. It shows his lack of understanding of what AI will do to us. The so called health related benefits will be accessible only to the rich, while energy water land resources will be stolen from Global South to keep those energy gurgling massive data centers. It will upend daily life. Cavemen at least had water and clean air and a place to live. The 99% of us won't have that if climate change continues at the rate it is whose chief cause is the energy consumption of tech companies. NDT comparing modern science and caveman is also a hoax. He conveniently forgot to mention highly civilized societies like Mesopotamia Egypt and the Indus Valley who has remarkable technology and engineering despite having no AI. The number of people nuclear bomb has killed maimed infected is significantly higher than the number of people nuclear energy has helped or saved. So how can we say science is net positive for us. It was clear that this episode was just NDT trying to shove his "Oh I know this better than you boy coz I'm older and smarter" perspectives heavy handedly disguised as truth down young Hasan's throat. It was painfully obvious and not at all convincing. Makes me question everything NDT has said till now. Hasan read Jocelyn Longdon's work Natural Connection for better understanding of AI and it's impact. LLM's are not as important and more destructive in fact.
