I have to say this is the most compelling "doomer" (which I use here simply as a shorthand term) interview I've ever watched. Very sober and level-headed assessment. More or less every statement he made I would agree with. Honestly, the only reason I worry so little about AI safety is I've watched the world teeter just weeks, days, even hours away from terminal nuclear war for the past three years. Worrying about AI would be like having stage-4 cancer and worrying about dying one day of Alzheimer's.
