I have my bachelor degree in art and spent 15 years freelancing and illustrating. Then I developed severe rheumatoid arthritis that eventually damaged my hands, left me with chronic pain, killing my range of motion and fine motor skills. I had to retire as an artist and go back to school for a different career option. I do use AI art on occasion, but I don't try to sell it off as my own creation. It's for my personal enjoyment without profit, to see a creative vision I have stuck in my head come alive on screen without worsening my depression, frustration, and pain that trying to draw it on my own would cause.
