You can tell its AI mostly because while yes it does sound like her, there was no emotion in the voice at all and it did sound quite off from how a normal human would sound like. Plus only way to get her voice was somehow possibly from social media via videos or its someone that she or the family knows. Because seems like she was specifically targeted in that scam to get money and knew the phone number of the mom as well. So yeah I'd reckon its someone they know.
