I think ai copying is different from personal copying. If you tell a computer to paint in a famous artists style it can actually copy their style, but when a human tries to copy their style it turns into something inspired by, but has your uniqueness to it.
Lets move this over to music and it might make it easier. Taylor swift was able to re-record her masters because its found that someones unique voice is a big enough difference to make it a transformative piece. What about impressionist singers? If you did a taylor swift impression during a taylor swift song is that transformative? Probably, because 1 the voice isnt perfect, and 2 the fact your doing an impression makes the art inherently different to the one youre covering. Now say youre only able to replicate as things are, thats a perfect voice match that can redo it exactly as is or slightly different, but you were what they used to make your work, so shouldnt it be your work? It cant create its own voice, but you own your likeness, so whos voice does the AI sing in? Can voices be patented/trademarked/copyrighted (whichever it is I'm an idiot)
