Well, scientists don't really know what consciousness even is yet.
My view on this is that the human brain is much more compex & multi layered than any AI that's been created. Our personalities are based on many different factors, and so are our decisions and our perception of things. It's like a 3d vs 2d difference, 2d being the current AI models.
The only thing that is still unexplainable is how that one guy with 90% brain tissue managed to live and be conscious. Like...where is consciousness even stored? Are there multiple levels to it? Can you be 50% conscious? Is it spread out through all of the brain? We know what parts of the brain are responsible for releasing what chemicals, so why don't we know this?
I've heard multiple theories, but it still baffles me
