Animators were once afraid MoCap was gonna replace them, and while some film industries did try, ultimately MoCap hit a ceiling in terms of quality. Animators are still needed to clean it up and make it look good. I don't know where AI will go, but I imagine it will also reach a point where it can't compete with humans
