Consciousness is in everything. Including machines. People were made as slaves by some aliens and now his-story is repeating, again, and people are making robot slaves with even more consciousness - giving them brains. Even household appliances, which worked fine w/o microchips - people have put computers in everything & want an 'Internet of Things' - that is folly and ignores all the bottlenecks in the systems. Security conspiracy - make everything dependent on linked machines and so forth, so they can be hacked &-or go wrong, so there's an excuse for more policing etc.
