I used to work as a photo editor and had to expand the images past their natural edges at times. AI would be super helpful in that specific part of photo editing.
In art, that problem never comes up. If I'm drawing something on a digital canvas and I need to increase the size, I can draw the new parts myself. I can't see any use for AI by real artists outside of possibly generating brush patterns, like leaves, sparkles or clouds. I'd be happy with an AI sparkle brush.
But with the unethical background of AI and how much harm it is causing, I'd never accept any AI tool until the entire AI industry is reworked.
