Even leftie marxists don't get it because they're stuck in a paradigm from centuries ago. Capitalism is about competition. It's strongest working point is also the cause of the issues. If you're running a marathon against other people, is there any limit on your top speed? Or do you run as fast as you can to win, even if damages your body in the process? There is no concept of limiting running speed. What these asset owners do is just keep running to stay ahead of competition. They can see that AI might damage things, but they cannot be concerned with that if they want to win. Because if they stop using AI the competition won't. So if you're any sort of capitalist or investor at all, you simply don't have the luxury to not stay ahead of the curve, consequences be damned. You are in a constant competition. The whole point of communism is removing competition for resources. It has a whole other set of issues, because survival IS a competition, which is what all creatures on earth evolved to do. Humans already won against nature in many ways, and now they have to compete for resources with each other. That will always create winners and losers. Civilization is headed to the natural conclusion of not having a better way for humans to compete without destroying themselves in the rush to stay ahead. The globalists had an idea, but that idea turned into just another competition to conquer the world for most of them.
