You have no right to feel angry about this. I so tried, as a experienced developer who has worked with AI and it's mathematical algorithms for years, hearing artists that know NOTHING about this subject cry and complain. The art from the data sets are not being used in the end product of tools like MidJourney. I know this concept may be lost on the boy who choose to go to art school, but AI stands for Artificial Intelligence. The images being used are analyzed to teach the AI how to create it's own art. Until you spend 1000s of hours understanding and working with Tensor Training Models, Diffusion, Image Decoding from Latent space layers, and other advanced data science concepts, I don't want to hear a word out of your mouth. You all are such hypocrites. You sit here and talk about how your art is unique and one of a kind, when every art technique you use was learned from other peoples art. Art school is literally you sitting there and studying other art so you can use it in your own art pieces. I have sat on YouTube and watched people go to Google Images and scroll through other peoples art for "inspiration" and then create something "new". It's a double standard. It's okay for you to learn and create from other pieces of art. But, as soon as an Intelligence made of 1's and 0's does the EXACT SAME THING, it's now theft. There is so much misinformation in this video, and this guy is clearly throwing around words he doesn't fully understand. And by the way, this isn't illegal. That has yet to be decided in courts. Google Images has been doing this same exact thing for years by data mining images you WILLINGLY POST on the internet, grabbing and saving the relevant meta data on the image, and then offering that meta data as a service. And guess what? They won that court battle so long ago, some of you may not have even been born yet. If you are upset that AI companies are simply looking at your art work to train their AI, stop posting it on the internet. Because it is not illegal to look at other peoples art work, learn from it, and create your own. That being said, people using AI to directly copy other artists by using their name should be prosecuted to the fullest extend of the law. That's plain theft. But if your mad that someone made AI art by typing "Dog with red hat" simply because your piece of art was looked at, not directly used, but processed and learned from, then I suggest you stop posting art on the internet, because both humans and AI are going to use that piece of art to further their art. You all are thinking with emotions and fighting with misinformation. Learn how AI works, or listen to the people that do. That being said, spreading misinformation on how the technology works because you are mad is also not okay. People making their own art based on simply word prompts and descriptions are just trying to express them self's, and you need to leave them alone and stop spreading lies on a subject you know nothing about.
